The Sacramento Kings haven’t been that busy during the offseason, disappointing some fans who wanted to see a major shake-up within the roster.
But they may not be done yet.
Writing on X, Evan Sidery said the Kings are “widely believed” to be targeting another veteran point guard to pair with Dennis Schroder, who recently joined the team.
“Sacramento has remained in contact with their top two remaining targets: Russell Westbrook and Ben Simmons,” Sidery wrote.

Westbrook has been tied to the team for weeks now, but it seems that any potential deal has stalled.
But this news proves that the Kings are still interested in the star player and could continue to pursue him.
Simmons is a newer addition to the rumor mill, and he may not excite the fanbase.
Simmons has been the definition of diminishing returns over the last few years, turning in weaker and weaker numbers.
He has moved from the Philadelphia 76ers to the Brooklyn Nets and, most recently, the Los Angeles Clippers, but his lackluster performances have followed him everywhere.
There are concerns about both of these players because of how they might perform, but they both bring something important: an affordable salary.
The Kings wouldn’t have to spend a lot to get either Westbrook or Simmons, and that could help them in the long run.
If they don’t have to spend much, the Kings wouldn’t feel as committed, so they’d be able to part ways with them if things go wrong.
Sacramento obviously wants to do more before the offseason is over, but no one is sure if they will.
They may be looking at Westbrook and Simmons, but that doesn’t mean they’ll sign either of them.
