The Los Angeles Lakers have committed to some important adjustments this offseason, but they still haven’t signed Luka Doncic to a contract extension.
Obviously, that is their biggest goal, and there is still hope they can make it happen.
In fact, the Lakers are going to great lengths to get Doncic’s signature on the dotted line.
Speaking on ESPN, Ramona Shelburne opened up about what the Lakers’ front office will do this summer.
“Their summer’s incomplete until we know if he extends with the Lakers. The Lakers have plans to go visit him in Slovenia this offseason. They’re going to go to EuroBasket. This is not a player that’s looking like, ‘I’m gonna leave as a free agent next year.’ If he extends, even for the short extension, then it’s absolutely the Lakers,” Shelburne said, via LakersMuse.

Going all the way to Slovenia shows just how much the Lakers want Doncic back for the long-term future.
All signs point to both sides working out a deal.
We don’t know how long the new contract will be and how much it’ll cost, but Doncic is probably going to commit to the Lakers for years to come.
He is a loyal player and wants to find one team he can stick with for the rest of his time in the NBA.
He planned to do with that the Dallas Mavericks, but that team’s front office had other plans.
Doncic has been part of the Lakers’ moves during the summer, according to multiple reports.
He has been happy with the signings of Deandre Ayton and Marcus Smart and even encouraged them to happen.
This shows that he is involved with his team and cares about the future, which is obviously a great sign.
Has he found the franchise he can be with for the rest of his career?
