Minnesota United loaned homegrown defender Devin Padelford to St. Louis City for the remainder of the season, the Western Conference clubs announced Tuesday.

In exchange, Minnesota will receive a third-round pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft.

Padelford, 22, has one goal and one assist in 36 MLS matches (20 starts) for MNUFC since his 2023 debut.

“Devin is a young player who has already shown maturity and potential at the MLS level,” St. Louis sporting director Lutz Pfannenstiel said. “His ability to get forward from the left side, combined with his defensive instincts, will provide us with another option as we push through the end of the season.”

With 11 matches remaining, St. Louis (4-13-6, 18 points) sits 11 points below the MLS Cup Playoffs line. Minnesota (11-5-8, 41 points) is in third place, just two behind West-leading San Diego FC.
