MANILA, Philippines—Bahrain will play host to two PBA games this coming December.
League commissioner Willie Marcial and Bahrain Basketball Association president Alaa Mudara announced the development during halftime of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals Game 5.
Three teams are scheduled to see action in Bahrain on December 15 and 17.
Marcial did not disclose which teams will be competing but said one squad will be playing “back-to-back games.”
The Bahrain games are scheduled just a few months after the league’s Dubai spot in the third week of October.
The overseas games will be a part of the PBA’s festivities for its 50th Season..
Mudara also expressed his excitement about hosting the PBA after already doing the the same for other overseas leagues outside Bahrain.
“We’re very happy to host the PBA games in Bahrain,” said Mudara.
“[It’s] for the PBA fans who enjoy watching them especially for Filipinos who cannot come to the Philippines to watch these games.”
Based on the PBA’s calendar, the games to be played in Bahrain would be under the Philippine Cup conference.
