Chad Kelly’s return date is up in the air.
The Toronto Argonauts confirmed Thursday that their injured star quarterback will not play in Saturday’s home game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.
Kelly hasn’t played since fracturing his leg in last year’s CFL East final.
At Thursday’s practice, Argos coach Ryan Dinwiddie told 3 Down Nation that Kelly is considered week-to-week.
“It’s probably too early to say, I don’t have a clear-cut answer for that,” Dinwiddie said when asked when Kelly will be ready. “He was out here practising (earlier in the week); he was moving around. That’s the thing for me, I want to make sure he can move around and protect himself, so we’ve got to get him out on the practice field and then see where he’s at.”
Kelly has endured a frustrating stretch, missing the first six games of the 2025 season as well as last year’s Grey Cup win.
The Argos are 1-5 this season without Kelly. Nick Arbuckle has started every game, including the Grey Cup, since Kelly went out.
