MANILA, Philippines—San Miguel Beer veteran was almost unfazed with the conclusion of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals’ Game 5 at Araneta Coliseum on Wednesday night.

The Beermen fumbled their first chance to close out TNT as the Tropang Giga subdued San Miguel, 86-78, to stay alive in the best-of-seven affair.

But with a 3-2 advantage,  San Miguel has two more chances to deny TNT of its Grand Slam bid.

“It’s alright. It’s a series and they’re a championship team. We knew they’d fight back. They played a good game and we didn’t,” said Ross.

“They were doing what they did and we didn’t do what we do. I’m very confident with my team. After a loss, we find ways to bounce back and Friday will be no different.”

The Beermen were unable to capitalize on a shorthanded TNT squad, which didn’t have the services of Simon Enciso and Poy Erram.

Instead, the Tropang 5G had Brandon Ganuelas-Rosser step up with a monster stat line of  18 points, five rebounds, five blocks and three steals.

Ross’ six points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals just weren’t enough to spark a comeback for the Beermen and end the series in five games.

But expect Ross and the Beermen to just keep on grinding towards their goal of returning to the All-Filipino Cup throne.

“We’ll put our best foot forward, make some adjustments and we’ll come out ready to play,” he said.

“Hopefully, we end it on Friday, but if not we play on Sunday. We have that chance on Friday and hopefully we play better.”
