Eagles DT Makes Notable Physique Change

The Philadelphia Eagles’ defense was the heart and soul of their 2024 Super Bowl run, and the scary part is that there is plenty of room for the defense to improve, given how much young talent there is on that side of the ball.

A big part of that improvement takes place in the offseason, and one of the team’s young defensive tackles recently became the latest entrant into the “best shape of my life” club that you often see players join at the start of training camp each year.

Insider Ari Meirov shared a clip of Jordan Davis stepping to the podium to speak with the media during training camp, and he mentioned that he dropped from 356 pounds down to where the Eagles want him to be at 330 pounds, while he also offered to take his shirt off to show the media his progress.

Davis has been a strong foundational presence at the heart of Philly’s defense, and while he has done a great job clogging up running lanes while playing all 17 games in each of the past two years, he hasn’t quite developed into the star he is capable of being just yet.

He was a somewhat controversial pick with the 13th overall selection in 2022 due to his weight, it hasn’t been an issue through three years in the NFL.

However, a slimmed-down Davis could unlock some more pass-rushing ability and help him take the next step to stardom.

If he makes a leap, the opposing offenses will have a nightmarish task of trying to deal with both him and Jalen Carter in the middle of this defense.

The two of them have already anchored a Super Bowl-winning defense, and it’s scary to think that they can both get much better.
