Netflix has a new hit show on its hands. Mystery thriller Untamed became the number one English series globally shortly after its premiere, gathering an impressive 24.6 million views in its first week.
Whether you tuned in for the mystery, Eric Bana’s acting chops, or the beautiful landscapes, there’s a good chance you’ve already watched all available episodes. Should you expect more?
Untamed Season 2 Release Date
The bad news? Untamed is listed on Netflix as a “limited series.” This usually means that it’s a one-season-and-done type of thing. Additionally, the streaming service hasn’t made any announcements about additional episodes.
That said, the series premiered only a week ago. Things can change. Given the large viewership numbers, Untamed season 2 might still become a reality. We just need to wait and see.
As long as that happens, the second installment might hit Netflix sometime in late 2026.

What Could Happen in Untamed Season 2?
Untamed stars Eric Bana, who you might know from The Dry, Dirty John, Lone Survivor, or Black Hawk Down.
He plays Kyle Turner, an agent with the National Park Service’s Investigative Services Branch, who is called to Yosemite National Park after a woman is found dead. As he looks into the case, the presumed suicide gradually unravels into a far darker story. Turns out, secrets tie the victim to the park’s chief ranger and Turner’s haunted past.
The series is immersive and haunting, with great performances from everyone involved. By the end of the first batch of episodes, you get a resolution for the main mystery. However, said resolution has repercussions, and it would be interesting to follow Turner in the aftermath of this difficult case.
When asked about Untamed season 2, Bana told Variety that things are up in the air, but didn’t dismiss the possibility altogether. “We spoke about what would happen to Kyle after this, in theory. So you never know,” he said.
As for where a sequel might take him, that’s also uncertain, but it would probably be another national park. “If we got the opportunity to do it again, it would be getting to explore a different park, a different case,” co-showrunner Elle Smith told TV Insider.
Bottom line? Season 2 definitely isn’t out of the question. We’re keeping our fingers crossed.
