Blue Jays prospect Trey Yesavage tosses four perfect innings in double-A

Trey Yesavage continues to dominate during his first season of professional baseball.

The Toronto Blue Jays‘ top pitching prospect was on the mound for the New Hampshire Fisher-Cats Saturday, tossing four perfect innings while striking out five.

Yesavage made quick work of Hartford in the first inning, striking out the side with just 14 pitches.

Toronto selected the right-handed starter in the first round of the 2024 draft. The 21-year-old Yesavage has quickly worked his way up through the Blue Jays’ system this season, already graduating from single-A Dunedin and high-A Vancouver.

Yesavage entered Saturday’s contest owning a 3.19 ERA this season, but a 6.35 ERA in double-A. However, the righty is now up to 116 strikeouts in 71.2 innings.

The big righty is Toronto’s No. 2 prospect, according to MLB.com.
