Defenceman Jayden Struble has signed a two-year, one-way contract worth $2.825-million ($1.4125 million in average annual value), the team announced Monday.

Struble, 23, enjoyed a solid second campaign with the Canadiens this past season, finishing with two goals and 11 assists for a career-high 13 points in 56 games. He played an average of 14:57 a night.

He also laid 124 hits, tied for the fifth most on the team with centre Jake Evans.

He also made two playoff appearances for the Canadiens in the first-round series against the Washington Capitals, logging an average of 12:18 of time on ice.

The Providence, R.I., native’s new contract will keep him in Montreal through the 2026-27 season, after which he’ll become a restricted free agent in the summer of 2027.

Struble was selected by the Canadiens in the second round, 46th overall, of the 2019 NHL Draft. He made his debut with the side in the 2023-24 season, playing 56 games.
