Kings Are Reportedly ‘Still Looking’ To Trade 2 Key Players

Over the last few days, the buzz around Russell Westbrook joining the Sacramento Kings has grown.

It now seems very likely that Westbrook will be in Sacramento soon, but that means the Kings have some adjusting to do.

They may need to trade at least one player for this to make financial and logistical sense.

According to Matt George, via Legion Hoops, the Kings are looking to trade Malik Monk or Devin Carter in the days ahead.

Will this team be parting ways with two players right before they hit their true primes?

Monk just concluded his third season with the Kings, and he averaged 17.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 5.6 assists on 43.9 percent from the field.

A couple of seasons ago, he was referred to as a Sixth Man of the Year candidate, but Monk has turned himself into a starting presence for the Kings.

But his time in Sacramento may have come to an end, because it doesn’t seem like the team would have a spot for him if Westbrook were in the rotation.

As for Carter, he finished his rookie season with the Kings and put up 3.8 points and 2.1 rebounds during his 36 games.

Injuries held him back, and he wasn’t able to reach his true potential.

Because of that, some fans think that the best is yet to come for Carter, and they’d like to hold onto him if possible.

Those same fans are worried that the Kings are on the verge of making a move that could hurt them for years to come.

Sadly, it wouldn’t be the first time that Sacramento made a mistake that impaired the lineup, especially in the point guard position.
