Cam Ward Reveals Honest Thoughts About Titans’ Offense

The Tennessee Titans want to return to the playoffs.

Of course, that will be easier said than done.

Head coach Brian Callahan begins his second season with the No. 1 pick on the field, but it will take more than that to straighten the course of the ship.

And judging by Cam Ward‘s latest words, he’s not that impressed with the offense right now.

When asked about it, he had a rather interesting choice of words (via Dov Kleiman):

“I just think we’re very mid right now,” Ward said. “For my position, upfront, the receivers, but at the end of the day, it all starts with me. I just don’t think we’re where we need to be, but we got a little bit of time.”

Granted, Ward did say that it all started with him, but perhaps he could’ve phrased things a little better.

Ward drew rave reviews for his business-like approach and obsessive work ethic, but he’s gotten himself into a bit of trouble with his wording recently.

Just last week, he claimed that he didn’t have any sort of reaction to his teammate, Will Levis, undergoing season-ending surgery, and the franchise might want to speed things up when it comes to his P.R. training.

Then again, at the end of the day, all that matters is what he can do on the field.

The bar isn’t particularly high after what Levis showed last season, but expectations will always be steep for No. 1 selections.

Ward is a very talented young man with a cannon for an arm, and he can make every throw in the book.

Callahan is an offensive-minded coach, and he might be ideal for developing him.

Still, it might take a while before this team gets back to where it used to be.
