Nobody expected the Washington Commanders to have the type of success they did last season, as rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels ushered in a new era and helped the franchise reach the NFC Championship Game for the first time in more than 30 years.
That success has raised expectations with the media and the long-suffering fan base, and Daniels recently had a big statement about those fans.
“Jayden Daniels says that the Commanders have the best fans in the NFL as he was gifted a cool, custom rug today by fans,” Jay Daniels MVP wrote on X.

Every player says something like this, but it is exciting to see how much the fans have embraced their young quarterback.
They have been through it all in recent years, from franchise quarterbacks getting injured and flaming out, to a messy ownership transition, to a public fight for a new stadium, to two name changes.
Now, those fans can root for an exciting, competitive team highlighted by one of the best emerging quarterbacks in the NFL.
Washington’s front office was aggressive this offseason in bringing in more help for Daniels, most notably by trading for Deebo Samuel and Laremy Tunsil.
It will be intriguing to watch to see if the Commanders can handle the pressure of heightened expectations.
