Trey Lance makes strong impression in Hall of Fame Game

Trey Lance’s career has not developed as anybody hoped after he was taken with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. Injuries, inconsistency and bouncing around the league has left him in a situation where he is trying to rebuild his career on a one-year, $2 million free-agency contract with the Los Angeles Chargers.

That personal rebuilding got off to a promising start during Thursday’s NFL Hall of Fame game in Canton, Ohio, when he played the bulk of the Chargers’ 34-7 win against the Detroit Lions.

Lance was arguably the best player on the field, completing 13 of 20 passes for 120 yards (six yards per pass attempt), two touchdowns and zero interceptions.

His touchdowns came on a five-yard pass to Will Dissly and a 15-yard pass to KeAndre Lambert-Smith.
