The San Francisco 49ers have a lot of pressure on them to rebound from last year’s disastrous last-place NFC West finish that saw them go just 6-11 and become the latest example of the Super Bowl hangover.
One position group with major question marks is the wide receiver room, especially after trading Deebo Samuel to the Washington Commanders and with Brandon Aiyuk still working his way back from a torn ACL.
With some uncertainty in the WR room, San Francisco is reportedly looking to tap into the free agent market, as KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson recently shared that the Niners have officially conducted a workout with former Miami Dolphins receiver Robbie Chosen.

Chosen’s career has been on the downswing in recent years, and he caught just one pass for five yards for Miami last season after catching four passes for 126 yards and a touchdown in nine games in 2023.
He hasn’t been a legitimate threat since he was still with the Carolina Panthers in 2021, and at 32 years of age, this is a bit of a surprising piece of news.
There are other veteran receivers who would likely be bigger upgrades than Chosen, but perhaps he looked great in his workout.
There is no word on whether or not the two parties came to an agreement, but it is noteworthy that the Niners are at least still in the hunt for help at receiver.
Ricky Pearsall was just activated from the PUP list, and Jauan Jennings is working through a calf injury, so there is no sure thing in this WR room at the moment.
Perhaps Chosen could be the answer for the time being.
