Sam Mayer wins NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Iowa Speedway

After putting together an incredibly consistent 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series campaign, Sam Mayer finally snagged his first win of the season on Saturday at Iowa Speedway.

Mayer led 28 laps and drove away on a late-race restart to score his eighth career win, his first with Haas Factory Team and his second consecutive at Iowa. The victory is also the first for Ford in the 2025 Xfinity Series season.

Polesitter Love, Stage 2 winner Ross Chastain, who led the most laps with 120, Stage 1 winner Connor Zilisch and Harrison Burton rounded out the top-five, with Carson Hocevar, Sheldon Creed, Ryan Sieg, Carson Kvapil and Christian Eckes completing the top-10.

Other notable finishers included William Sawalich in 11th, Sammy Smith in 15th, defending Xfinity Series champion Justin Allgaier in 16th, Brandon Jones in 23rd and Corey Day in 24th.

Austin Dillon finished 14th in the No. 21 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet as a substitute for Austin Hill, who was serving a one-race suspension.

Zilisch and Allgaier are now tied for the lead in the regular season standings, while Sieg currently holds the 12th and final provisional playoff spot by two points over Jeb Burton. Four races remain in the Xfinity Series regular season.

The 23rd race of the 2025 NASCAR Xfinity Series season will take place at Watkins Glen on Aug. 9.
