The Sacramento Kings have been trying to shake things up during the summer, but that’s easier said than done.

They have had their sights set on a couple of larger names to improve their roster, but haven’t had much luck.

According to Legion Hoops, the Kings’ “dream offseason” is to land both Jonathan Kuminga and Russell Westbrook.

But as Jake Weinbach said, calling this a “dream offseason” is an understatement, because Sacramento’s front office still “has plenty of work to do.”

At this point, the Kings would love to sign just one of these players, and getting both would be huge.

But it doesn’t seem like that will happen.

Kuminga has been having a very difficult time getting a good deal from the Golden State Warriors or a promising package from another team.

He remains in limbo, but most people assume that he will go back to Golden State, at least for the start of the season.

As for Westbrook, he has a few teams vying for him now that he seems done with the Denver Nuggets and is exploring free agency.

For the right price, the Kings would love to add his expertise and experience to their backcourt.

The Kings’ front office has made plenty of mistakes over the last few years, and fans aren’t optimistic that they will be able to get either Kuminga or Westbrook.

And even if they did, the team would still be suffering from a ton of problems, such as a crowded Western Conference.

Will Sacramento’s “dream offseason” become a reality?

It doesn’t seem likely, but it could be possible if the Kings pull off a miracle.
