The future of the Los Angeles Lakers is all Luka.
Luka Doncic just signed a three-year, $165 million contract extension with his team, meaning he will be with the Lakers for at least a few more seasons.
On top of that, Doncic has been taking great care of his body during the summer, and recent photos of him showcase a slim and fit Lakers star who appears ready to play his heart out in 2025-26.
Speaking on his show, Zach Lowe talked about Doncic and said that he considers him one of the best players in the league, even with tough competition from the Oklahoma City Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
“Even now, after watching OKC win the chip, would you take Luka over SGA? A year ago, I would’ve taken Luka. Now, I don’t think it’s an open-and-shut case, despite everything SGA just did. That’s how good Luka is,” Lowe said, via Clemente Almanza.

Lowe pointed out that the NBA has never seen Doncic quite like this before.
If he can stay in this shape, he will be like a totally different player.
Of course, that is a big question because Doncic has been in great condition before, only to slip into old habits and loosen up around the waistline as the season goes on.
But something could be different about this situation.
He is playing for a new team after his old one discarded him and ridiculed his physical state.
Plus, he’s on the court alongside perhaps the greatest basketball player of all time, improving his chances of winning a championship.
Doncic has a lot to prove and a ton of potential with this Lakers team.
Lowe believes that everyone, from the front office to the fans to James, should be excited for what Doncic can do in the new season.
He looks great and might be on the verge of his best season yet.
