Khalil Mack Has Honest Admission About His Future In NFL

There was a time when Khalil Mack was known as one of the prime headhunters in the National Football League.

That may no longer be the case, but he’s still a force to be reckoned with and a respected veteran.

That’s why he’s not going anywhere right now.

Talking to Kay Adams for “Up & Adams,” the former Los Angeles Chargers superstar opened up on his plans for the future and his plans for retirement:

“I feel good. I feel young. I feel like I can hang in there for a few more [years]. All in all, just taking it one day at a time, coming out here, executing at a high level,” Mack said.

Mack has had one of the best careers for any pass rusher in the last decade.

He was named Defensive Player of the Year back in 2016, but his lack of postseason success still drives him.

Last month, he admitted that his playoff loss to the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round motivated him to run it back and come back for his 12th season in the league.

He’s coming off a down year by his standards.

He finished the campaign with just six sacks, which was tied for the second-lowest total for a season in his career, and a lot of that had to do with injuries.

Even so, he still managed to lead his team with a 13% pass rush win rate, and he got his ninth Pro Bowl selection in eleven seasons in the league.

He also had two sacks and five quarterback pressures in the playoff loss, so just like he said, it seems like he still has plenty left in the tank and can be an impactful factor on a winning team.
