Teddy Bridgewater is going straight from high school back to the NFL.
The veteran quarterback is expected to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following a visit on Tuesday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported.
Bridgewater, 32, last appeared in the NFL during the 2024 playoffs as a member of the Detroit Lions, his second straight with the organization.
He then left the league to turn to high-school coaching in Miami, but was suspended in July for allegedly providing impermissible benefits to his players.
The Louisville alum entered the NFL as a first-round pick (32nd overall) of the Minnesota Vikings in 2014. He’s gone on to play 79 games (65 starts) over 10 years with the Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, Miami Dolphins and Lions.
The Buccaneers have Baker Mayfield locked in as their No. 1 QB with Kyle Trask No. 2 on the depth chart.
