The San Francisco 49ers couldn’t catch a break last season.
Everything that could’ve gone wrong went wrong, and they’re still dealing with the lingering effects of their staggering injuries.
Now, with Deebo Samuel gone and other players banged up, there are legitimate reasons to have doubts about this team.
However, insider David Lombardi believes it is more than capable of holding its own.
“Biggest takeaway of training camp so far: Even with the questions at receiver, 49ers have the arsenal to be a powerful offense. There’s explosive veteran talent around a very good QB. SF went into this offseason retool knowing that offense would have to lead into 2025 as the nucleus, and Purdy and Co. haven’t disappointed. They’re on track to be that,” Lombardi wrote on X.

The Niners have one of the best offensive playcallers in the game, and if someone knows how to make a lot with a little, it’s head coach Kyle Shanahan.
All eyes will now be set on Brock Purdy, who just got a big payday and will no longer be seen as a bargain.
The quarterback has been a polarizing subject around the league since he took the reins of the offense as “Mr. Irrelevant,” but he’s no longer just a feel-good story.
He didn’t look as good when he didn’t have multiple All-Pros around him, and some question his ability to lead a team to success.
Then again, he shouldn’t be blamed for being surrounded by talented players, and he’s given the 49ers top-notch quarterback play most of the time.
The Niners have some major questions ahead of this season, but it isn’t wise to count them out.
