Ravens Could Have Found A Hidden Gem At Kicker

The Baltimore Ravens are used to having an elite kicker.

Even though Justin Tucker is gone, they’re likely to keep that tradition alive.

As pointed out by Jamison Hensley, via NFL on ESPN, rookie kicker Tyler Loop went 7-for-7 in practice, even making a 55-yard field goal.

Loop recently made all 11 of his field goal attempts in front of fans during a training camp event at M&T Bank Stadium.

The Ravens selected him in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, and he had some huge shoes to fill.

They released Tucker after a down season and accusations of sexual misconduct. He later received a 10-week NFL suspension.

The Ravens look quite confident in Loop, as they haven’t brought any competition and released the only other kicker on the roster.

The team reportedly worked out more than 30 kickers before drafting Loop.

Of course, it’s one thing to dominate in practice and an entirely different thing to do so when it counts, and rookie kickers have struggled multiple times in the past.

The Ravens enter this season as one of the strongest teams in the NFL, but they can’t afford to leave points on the field, especially against AFC North opponents in low-scoring affairs.

They are hopeful Loop is up to the challenge.
