Houston pulled off a stunning comeback in the Final Four in San Antonio on Saturday night, overcoming a 14-point deficit with around eight minutes left to stun fellow No. 1 seed Duke and projected No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg.
Flagg had a good showing with 27 points, seven rebounds, four assists, three blocks, two steals, and just one turnover, but he shot just 8-for-19 against Houston’s tenacious defense and failed to make any much-needed impact plays down the stretch as his Blue Devils’ lead slipped away.
Now that his college career is presumably over, he wasted no time revealing his honest thoughts about the upcoming NBA Draft and what it would mean to him if he went pro, according to insider Adam Zagoria.
“It would be a blessing for me to get drafted [by any] team in the NBA. That’s a dream of mine, to play in the NBA. I would feel completely blessed and honored to play for any team,” Flagg said.

Flagg had indicated in the past that a return to college for a sophomore season at Duke isn’t out of the question, but it would be shocking if he decided to do that given how locked in he is as the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft if he decides to declare.
The Utah Jazz, Washington Wizards, and Charlotte Hornets will most likely be the three teams with the likeliest chance of obtaining the No. 1 pick in the lottery, which grants the three worst teams in the league a 14 percent chance each at landing the pick.
All three could desperately use a prospect like Flagg, who also became the fourth freshman to take home the Wooden Award this past weekend.
