Longerbeam’s journey to the NFL began as a three-star prospect from T.C. Williams High School in Alexandria, Virginia.
He committed to Rutgers early in the recruiting process and remained loyal to the program, spending all five collegiate seasons with the Scarlet Knights.
During his time there, the 24-year-old became a defensive mainstay, appearing in 53 games and compiling impressive statistics: 154 total tackles (five for loss), five interceptions, 37 passes defended, and five forced fumbles.
The cornerback elevated his performance in 2024, recording 45 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions, and 11 pass breakups.
Standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 175 pounds, the Virginia native developed a reputation as a playmaker with a knack for creating turnovers.
Beyond his statistical contributions, Longerbeam earned praise for his leadership qualities and locker room presence.
While the New York Jets aren’t expected to target a cornerback with their early picks, they’ll likely seek to add depth in the later rounds.
