Draft Analyst Addresses Jets’ Debate With No. 7 Pick

The New York Jets find themselves at a fascinating crossroads as the 2025 NFL Draft approaches.

They can address their perpetual offensive line concerns or select a game-changing tight end.

NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently shared his thoughts on the Jets’ options at No. 7, presenting a compelling case that might surprise some fans.

While many mock drafts have New York targeting offensive tackle Armand Membou, Jeremiah sees greater value elsewhere.

“To me, it’s simply how you grade them. I’d have both of those tight ends over him. So if they want to stay best available and stay true to the board, I would take Tyler Warren and I wouldn’t hesitate to take Colston Loveland, either,” Jeremiah said, via Rich Cimini of ESPN.

Warren could transform the Jets’ passing attack almost immediately.

With Tyler Conklin now with the Los Angeles Chargers and Jeremy Ruckert failing to emerge as a consistent receiving threat, Warren would step in as the primary tight end option.

His reliable hands and red zone presence could make him a security blanket for Justin Fields on crucial third downs and goal-line situations.

Loveland represents another intriguing option, albeit slightly more controversial that high in the draft. He would bring explosive playmaking ability to a new offensive system, and pairing him with star receiver Garrett Wilson would give Fields multiple dynamic weapons to target downfield.

Membou remains firmly in the conversation, for good reason. Considered by many analysts to likely be the premier offensive lineman still available when the Jets pick, he offers an immediate upgrade at right tackle.

With Fields’ mobility and star running back Breece Hall, New York could be planning to emphasize its ground game in 2024.

The selection ultimately hinges on whether new head coach Aaron Glenn prioritizes the best player available or a positional need.

Either way, the Jets appear poised to significantly upgrade their offense with their first-round selection.
