Howie Roseman Says 1 Eagles Advisor Is The ‘Best In The NFL’

The Philadelphia Eagles have created a unique competitive advantage where many wouldn’t think to look – in their security chief turned talent evaluator.

Behind the imposing sideline presence stands a figure whose influence extends deep into the franchise’s personnel decisions.

Eagles general manager Howie Roseman recently pulled back the curtain on how “Big Dom” DiSandro impacts their draft strategy, revealing an evaluation process where character assessment plays a crucial role.

DiSandro’s lengthy official title – “senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer/gameday coaching operations” – barely captures his true organizational value.

“We do have objective criteria that we look at to take players off our board,” Roseman said, per reports by Pro Football Talk’s Michael David Smith. “We start with these basic principles of, ‘We will not draft because of this.’ When we get past those guys, then we obviously have a process we go through. That starts with Dom. I don’t think there’s any doubt that he’s the best in the National Football League, and in my opinion all of sports, at what he does. His ability to not only gather information but have a feel for people.”

Roseman highlighted Philadelphia’s commitment to cultural fit when assessing draft prospects, pointing to DiSandro as their ultimate authority on character evaluation.

While football fans recognize DiSandro as the stern figure beside head coach Nick Sirianni on game days, his contributions extend far beyond sideline management.

In an era where every team talks about establishing culture, the Eagles have weaponized this concept by employing DiSandro to determine which prospects truly align with their organizational identity.

This multifaceted approach has yielded results, with Roseman crediting DiSandro as instrumental in constructing rosters that have competed for championships.

As the 2025 NFL Draft approaches, DiSandro’s influence promises to shape Philadelphia’s selections once again.
