While the Green Bay Packers have maintained a relatively quiet offseason, draft night could change everything as rumors intensify about their interest in standout wide receiver Tetairoa McMillan.
General Manager Brian Gutekunst has shown unusual dedication to scouting McMillan, being the only GM to attend his private workout.
The team followed up by hosting him for a top-30 visit at Lambeau Field.
McMillan himself recently addressed the speculation, offering insight into his potential fit with the storied franchise.
“They’ve been showing me nothing but love throughout this whole draft process. If I’m fortunate enough to come over here, I know that I’m going to be in a facility, be in an environment that appreciates me for who I am and my abilities on the field,” McMillan said, per The Athletic’s Matt Schneidman. “I feel like I could fit in any offense well. But this one specifically, yeah.”

The timing couldn’t be better for the Packers.
Despite having promising young talent in Christian Watson, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, and Dontayvion Wicks, the team lacks a clear-cut number one receiver.
None of these players have yet emerged as the dominant target that quarterback Jordan Love could consistently rely on in crucial situations.
While championship teams have proven you don’t necessarily need an alpha receiver to make a deep playoff run, adding McMillan’s impressive physical skills and refined route-running would give Love another weapon in his developing arsenal.
The young quarterback showed flashes of brilliance last season and having another talented target could accelerate his progress.
There’s just one small concern in McMillan’s game that needs addressing—his tendency to drop passes.
With seven drops last season, he’ll need to improve his concentration at the next level.
Ironically, this issue might make him feel right at home in Green Bay, where dropped passes have occasionally plagued the receiving corps in recent seasons.
