One of the most hyped-up players in this year’s NFL draft class is Shedeur Sanders, the gifted quarterback from the University of Colorado.
He is the son of Deion Sanders, the Hall of Fame cornerback and former two-sport star who also happens to be the head coach at the University of Colorado.
The elder Sanders said during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he gave his son a simple piece of advice about the draft process.
“I told him to not believe anything they say because people are gonna criticize you so you can fall to them,” Sanders said.
“Just embrace the moment.”@DeionSanders discussed his message and advice to @ShedeurSanders during the NFL Draft process.

The younger Sanders is considered one of the two best quarterbacks in the 2024 draft class, and while Cam Ward of the University of Florida seems to have slipped past him on many draft boards, he still remains an intriguing prospect.
He threw for 4,134 yards and 37 touchdowns this season, but there are some questions about how he will handle pressure and blitzes at the next level, especially since the Buffaloes had a poor offensive line in 2024.
They lost to Brigham Young University in the Alamo Bowl, a game in which Sanders had two interceptions, which seemed to raise some questions about how he will play in big games.
There are also concerns about his father’s involvement in his football career, and it is something that could be a distraction for the team that selects him in April’s draft.
However, the younger Sanders’ accuracy (he completed 74.0 percent of his pass attempts during the 2024 season) and ability to complete passes of more than 20 yards make him an attractive prospect for a number of teams that need a franchise-caliber signal-caller
