George Kittle Sends Message To 49ers Fans After Contract Extension

The San Francisco 49ers made waves across the NFL this week by locking down a foundational piece of the franchise.

Star tight end George Kittle inked a four-year contract extension that could reach $76.4 million, catapulting him to the top of the tight end pay scale.

Kittle was heading into the final year of his previous contract signed in 2020.

After putting pen to paper, he wasted no time connecting with supporters through a heartfelt message that revealed his excitement about the extension.

“What’s up, guys? George Kittle here. How you doing? I’m doing great. Got that four-year extension. Going to be here plus 10 years, have a good one, a lot of good times. Get the faithful fired up. Let’s go,” Kittle shared in a video posted by the 49ers on X.

The deal was officially confirmed Tuesday morning by general manager John Lynch and includes $40 million in guaranteed money.

This new agreement keeps the 31-year-old fan favorite in the Bay Area through the 2029 season, extending a partnership that has already produced remarkable results.

The new deal pays Kittle $19.1 million annually, narrowly surpassing Arizona’s Trey McBride by just $100,000 for the title of highest-paid tight end.

The investment comes on the heels of another standout season from Kittle, who recorded his fourth 1,000-yard campaign in 2024 with 78 catches, 1,106 yards, and 8 touchdowns across 15 games.

Since joining the San Francisco 49ers as a fifth-round selection in the 2017 draft, Kittle has developed into one of the league’s premier players at his position.

His career numbers speak volumes – 538 receptions, 7,380 yards, and 45 touchdowns in 113 games, complemented by two All-Pro selections and six Pro Bowl nods.
