Giannis Antetokounmpo has a lot on his mind.
On Tuesday night, Antetokounmpo and his Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated from the NBA playoffs and now they have a summer to figure out their next steps.
Antetokounmpo will be at the center of those plans, but there is no promise he will come back to Milwaukee next season.
When asked about this, Antetokounmpo avoided giving details to ESPN.
“I’m not going to do this,” he said when asked if he thought he can win another title in Milwaukee. “I’m not going to do that. I know how it’s going to translate. I don’t know, man. I wish I was still playing. I wish I was still competing and going back and working out.”
All NBA fans know that Antetokounmpo is eager to win another championship, and while he would like to do it with the Bucks, he would move to another team if it were his only path to success.
After another disappointing and short run in the postseason, Antetokounmpo will have to weigh his options and decide what his best course is.
The Bucks will also have to consider everything.
They want Antetokounmpo to stick around, but the front office also understands it has little room to add talent with such hefty contracts on their tab.
If they want the most flexibility, they might have to cut ties with Antetokounmpo, as difficult as that may be.
After Tuesday’s loss, many people were instantly talking about Antetokounmpo and what he will do in the summer.
This is quickly becoming the story to pay attention to in the offseason because it could get very dramatic very quickly.
Right now, Antetokounmpo isn’t talking about what he will do, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t secretly thinking about it.
