The New York Giants landed another high-end defender for their already stacked defensive front.
However, it wasn’t all good news for Abdul Carter.
According to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Penn State standout was also a victim of a prank during Draft night.
The pranks keep coming: it turns out that Abdul Carter also got a prank call during the second pick in which the caller said he was from the Jaguars and they were going to select him with the No. 2 overall pick. “It’s unfortunate that these private numbers are getting to the… pic.twitter.com/ypTsnrSpcq

Apparently, someone called him and claimed to be from the Jacksonville Jaguars’ front office.
They told Carter that they intended to take him with the No. 2 pick.
Carter, however, didn’t buy it, and he didn’t pay attention to it.
Multiple players, like Shedeur Sanders and Mason Graham, also had to deal with this situation.
That was a sorry attempt to spoil one person’s lifelong dream of becoming a professional football player.
Then again, at the end of the day, there’s no need to read too much into that, and Carter did the right thing by not letting that ruin his big moment.
The Giants got an absolute beast of a pass rusher, with some scouts claiming that he was the best player in this class.
He has the potential to be a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, and, like fellow Nitanny Lion Micah Parsons, he can also line up in multiple spots on the defensive line.
At the end of the day, Carter will go home to his millions and his fame, and the prank-caller will have to settle for watching him on TV.
