Travis Hunter Makes Bold QB Claim

The Jacksonville Jaguars’ rookie sensation Travis Hunter might be bringing more than just his two-way talent to the NFL this season.

The versatile playmaker entered the draft with an unprecedented distinction – ranking as both the top cornerback and wide receiver prospect according to most experts.

Hunter has been vocal about his determination to play on both sides of the ball, even suggesting he’d walk away from football if forced to choose just one position. Now, there’s buzz about him potentially adding a third role to his football repertoire.

During a recent visit to the Jacksonville Jaguars’ facility, Hunter casually mentioned another skill in his arsenal while speaking with head coach Liam Coen.

“You know, I can play quarterback too,” Hunter told Coen in a YouTube clip, shared by Dov Kleiman. “I can throw the ball, so like trick plays. Nobody knew that. I can really play quarterback, but I chose the other option. I rather just catch the ball.”

While the comment might have seemed lighthearted, it could spark some creative thinking for the Jaguars’ offensive plans.

Coen, known for his innovative approach to play-calling, might find ways to showcase Hunter’s complete skill set across multiple positions.

The idea of Hunter taking occasional snaps would undoubtedly excite fans across the league.

His electric playmaking ability with the ball already turns heads, and adding a throwing dimension could create nightmares for opposing defenses.

Though Hunter never attempted a pass during his college career, that doesn’t rule out the possibility of some trickery at the professional level.

The Jacksonville Jaguars already have their franchise quarterback in Trevor Lawrence, so Hunter won’t be taking over the position, but surprise snaps or gadget plays could be in the cards.

As the first cornerback drafted in the top two picks and the first receiver to achieve that draft position since Calvin Johnson in 2007, Hunter seems intent on continuing to break barriers in the NFL.
