The NBA Finals are right around the corner, and four teams are currently battling to go all the way and win the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
Speaking on “First Things First,” Nick Wright made his prediction about who would win the title, but his feelings are conflicted.
“I think Oklahoma City’s the best team, I think they’ll beat everybody, I hope they lose this round,” Wright said.
On X, he followed that up with more of his opinion.
“As I said this afternoon, OKC is clearly the best team. They should win the title. Yet, I find it impossible to root for them. Their identity is super physical, amazing defense + an MVP who collapses when you nudge him to get calls & the refs reward it every time. Hate it,” he said.

The Thunder have looked like favorites to win a championship all season long.
They have been the most consistent team in the entire NBA, holding the top spot in the West since the start of the year.
And while other top squads like the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics have fallen in the playoffs, the Thunder have remained strong.
Even after a long and tough seven-game series against the Denver Nuggets, the Thunder looked in fine form on Tuesday night during Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Wright and others might have problems with the way the team plays and how often Shai Gilgeous-Alexander approaches the free throw line.
But there is no denying just how resilient this team has been.
Their current success has been years in the making, and they have been working hard to get to this moment.
They might look like favorites, but this year’s postseason has shown that anything can happen, so Wright’s prediction may be proven wrong, and it sounds like he’d be happy about that.
