Kraken sign defenceman Josh Mahura to two-year contract extension

Seattle Kraken general manager Jason Botterill announced on Friday that the team has signed defenceman Josh Mahura to a contract extension.

The two-year, one-way deal carries a $907,500 average annual value through the 2026-27 season.

The 27-year-old blue-liner appeared in 67 games last season, recording nine points (all assists), 89 hits and 54 blocked shots.

Mahura has played 255 career regular-season games over seven seasons split between the Kraken, Florida Panthers and Anaheim Ducks. The six-foot, 193-pounder has totalled 54 points in that span (10 goals, 44 assists).

“Josh was an important addition to our blue line last season”, said Botterill in a statement. “He plays an honest, physical game and rounded out our group of defencemen. He’s also a great teammate. We’re excited to bring him back for another two years.”
