The Los Angeles Lakers were part of one of the biggest trades in NBA history recently, but they are ready to make more deals.
They need a center, and they need one as soon as possible.
The team’s front office is already at work trying to find someone who can replace the hard work and excellent skill set of Anthony Davis.
That’s why it’s not surprising to hear that they could end up with Nic Claxton, currently of the Brooklyn Nets.
A new report says the trades involving Claxton could be on the horizon.
“Multiple Lakers outlets have reported on ‘theoretical’ trades involving Nets center Nic Claxton, and that’s not a coincidence. Claxton provides an athletic veteran floor runner who can switch to put next to Luka, the Nets and Lakers have done deals before, multiple times, and Claxton is likely ready to be on a contending team,” reported Hardwood Paroxysm, via NBACentral.
The Lakers have been linked to Nic Claxton, per @HPbasketball

In 2024-25, Claxton averaged 10.3 points and 7.4 rebounds.
He may not put up as many numbers as Davis, but he could give the Lakers a huge help and could fix so many of their problems.
Plus, as noted, he is ready to play for a contending team after spending years with the Nets.
On top of all that, Brooklyn and Los Angeles have a history of working well together, so there is every reason to believe they could get this deal done if both sides wanted it.
The Lakers desperately want a young and powerful center like Claxton, but how much are they willing to give up?
Will the Nets drive a hard bargain, and will the Lakers have to part ways with several players and a draft pick?
Is this the player the Lakers have been waiting for, and how much will they be willing to work for him?
