English singer and songwriter Ed Sheeran can be seen sporting the jersey of former IPL champions Rajasthan Royals‘ (RR) in his latest music video ‘Sapphire’. He shot the video during his recent trip to India earlier this year, which also features Arijit Singh and Shah Rukh Khan.

In the music video, Ed Sheeran can be seen sporting RR’s jersey, with some young cricketers in the background (at 0:44). RR pacer Tushar Deshpande can also be seen in the video at the same moment. Rajasthan won the IPL trophy in the inaugural edition of the league back in 2008, beating Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final.

Rajasthan Royals had a disastrous IPL 2025 season

Rajasthan Royals had a poor campaign in the most recent edition of the IPL. They failed to make it to the playoffs and also finished ninth on the points table, just a spot above CSK, who finished last. The side managed to win just four out of their 14 matches and with ten defeats, gathered only eight points throughout the season.

Their IPL 2025 campaign began with successive defeats against SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The side bounced back with two successive wins over CSK and Punjab Kings (PBKS).

However, things went south as they then faced five consecutive defeats that derailed their campaign. After a win against Gujarat Titans (GT), RR lost three more games on the trot. They ended the season on a high with a win over CSK in their last match to avoid the wooden spoon.

The team faltered in several run-chases, failing to close out games that they should have won, which cost them a spot in the playoffs eventually.

Taking learnings from a disappointing season, the former IPL champions will certainly be keen to come back strong with an improved performance in the 2026 season.
