WWE star Stephanie Vaquer recently got an interesting challenge for Evolution 2. Vaquer will be competing in a high-stakes match later tonight on WWE RAW.

Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Lyra Valkyria named two stars she would like to square off against at Evolution 2. She noted that she wanted to battle Giulia, but the former NXT Women’s Champion is on SmackDown. The former Women’s Intercontinental Champion also mentioned Stephanie Vaquer as a potential opponent at the PLE next month.

“A big match-up with someone that I haven’t faced yet would be very cool, mhm. Like, I know—um—we’ve got Giulia on SmackDown now. She’s, uh, I’ve never—never gotten in the ring with her. Stephanie Vaquer, she’s another one that’s been up and down from Raw, NXT… so I—we don’t know if it’s going to happen, I don’t know who will be involved. But someone that I haven’t faced yet would be, um, would be very cool—very fresh for me,” she said. [H/T: Ringside News]

Vaquer is scheduled to compete in a Fatal 4-Way Queen of the Ring match tonight on WWE RAW against Ivy Nile, Asuka, and Raquel Rodriguez. Asuka has not competed in a match since Backlash 2024 but will be returning to action tonight on the red brand.

Vince Russo claims he doesn’t understand the appeal of WWE star Stephanie Vaquer

Wrestling legend Vince Russo recently claimed that he didn’t understand why the WWE Universe was so fond of Stephanie Vaquer.

On an episode of Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Legion of RAW podcast, Russo admitted he was bewildered by Vaquer’s popularity. The veteran also compared the former NXT Women’s Champion to Dakota Kai and Alba Fyre.

“Bro, can you help me with this? Honestly, because I am not seeing this. What is the allure of Stephanie Vaquer? Or what is the allure with her? I’m missing it.” Russo continued, “There isn’t a casual fan on this planet that knows Booker T put this move over on NXT. She just, to me, looks like another girl on the roster. She looks like Dakota Kai, she looks like Alba Fyre, or whatever her name is. I am missing the appeal, bro. I do not get it.” [From 7:13 onwards]
