When Cade Cunningham first entered the league in 2021, Detroit Pistons fans said they just had to wait because they felt he would someday be an All-Star and lead the team to glory.
It seems that perhaps that day has come.
Cunningham has been fantastic this season, especially over the last month, and the Pistons are looking better than they have in years.
According to Evan Sidery, Cunningham is averaging 29.4 points, 9.7 assists, and 5.6 rebounds on a 57.6 true shooting percentage over the last month.
As noted by Sidery, the Pistons are now winners of seven straight games and are comfortably in the playoff race right now, 3.5 games ahead of the Orlando Magic for the sixth seed.

Can they keep it up?
It seems likely if Cunningham continues to play this way and he shows no signs of slowing down.
He is posting 25.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game for the 2024-25 season, which are all the highest numbers of his career.
This is his best season yet, and that’s why his team is thriving.
It is also why Cunningham finally earned his first All-Star appearance this month and it’s obvious that everyone now knows the type of talent he has.
The Pistons’ turnaround is one of the biggest in league history.
Following last year’s dismal showing, they look like a completely different team and are actually feared by their opponents.
Cunningham isn’t alone, and the other players and the coaching staff in Detroit have led the Pistons to new heights.
But his current run feels like Cunningham delivering on the hopes that Pistons fans have had for years.
