Happy 29th birthday to two-time Stanley Cup Champion Sam Bennett!
While one Sam scored four of the five Florida Panther goals in the series-clinching Game 6 win over the Edmonton Oilers in the Stanley Cup Finals, another Same brought home an extra piece of hardware. Sam Bennett, who racked up 22 points and a playoff-high 15 goals in the Panthers successful defense of their Stanley Cup, won the Conn Smythe Trophy honoring the most valuable player of the postseason – becoming the first player in Panthers history to win it.
“It’s obviously such a huge honor to be the MVP. But it’s 25 MVPs on this team,” Bennett said.
“It really could have gone to anyone. I’m very grateful, but I really could not have done it without this whole group.”
