MANILA, Philippines — KungFu Reyes is sharing his coaching experience with the San Beda women’s volleyball team in the NCAA.
The long-time University of Santo Tomas coach, who has been promoted as the program director and retained as girls’ volleyball team coach, was welcomed by the Lady Red Spikers on Saturday as their new tactician.

Reyes is set to bolster San Beda, which has been missing the Final Four for the past four seasons.
In the league’s 100th season, the Lady Red Spikers placed eighth with a 4-14 record in the return of the tournament’s double-round robin elimination format since 2020.
The new San Beda coach will handle a young squad led by Angel Habacan and Janella Bachar.
The Lady Red Spikers had a revolving door of coaches with five changes in the last five seasons– from Nemesio Gavino, Ariel Dela Cruz, Edgar Barroga, and Joshua Noda to Reyes.
Reyes took over at UST in 2015, leading the school to six Final Four appearances including an amazing finals run in the 2019 season led by Eya Laure and MVP Sisi Rondina and another runner-up finish in Season 86 last year, powered by Angge Poyos, Detdet Pepito, and Cassie Carballo.
He was replaced by his assistant and former UST coach Shaq Delos Santos, expressing his full support in the latter’s comeback since Season 72.
