The Indiana Pacers could be named NBA champions on Sunday night.
If they are, it’ll cap off an incredible postseason run unlike anything we have seen before.
As noted by Evan Sidery, just one more win would give the Pacers 11 upsets in games not favored during the playoffs.
“If Indiana pulls it off in Game 7, they will factually have the biggest underdog climb to a title in NBA history,” Sidery wrote.

So, can they do it?
They will have a lot stacked against them, but the Pacers definitely have a chance.
They will be playing Game 7 in Oklahoma City, which means they will be showered by the boos and jeers of thousands of Thunder fans feverish and eager to see their team win a title.
Plus, the Thunder rarely lose two games in a row, so a bounce-back performance from them is very likely.
But the Pacers have impressed multiple times throughout the regular season and especially in the playoffs.
Being able to win ten games while not being favored is a massive accomplishment, and adding one more would be very special, especially since it would give them the championship.
This is a team that will be studied for a long time because of how it slowly and surely put together a deep and reliable roster that could never be counted out.
Next season, they will not be seen as underdogs because of all they have done in 2024-25.
They have gone further than most people expected, but they have one more game left, and the stakes have never been higher.
