Max Muncy has found his stride at the plate over the last month following a slow start to the season, and the Los Angeles Dodgers third baseman accomplished a remarkable feat in his team’s latest win.
Muncy went 2-for-4 with a pair of home runs and seven RBI in the Dodgers’ 13-7 win over the Washington Nationals on Sunday. The seven-RBI game was Muncy’s second in less than a month, as he drove in the same number of runs in a May 31 victory against the New York Yankees.
Muncy’s seven-RBI game on Sunday came 22 days after his previous one, to be exact. That is the fewest number of days between games with seven-plus RBI since Pittsburgh Pirates legend Ralph Kiner had two games with seven or more RBI in a span of two weeks in 1951.
