It has been several weeks since the New York Knicks fired Tom Thibodeau as their head coach.
Since then, there have been a lot of rumors, a ton of speculation, and a few embarrassing denials from other teams.
But the Knicks are still without a coach.
A new report from The Athletic, via Fullcourtpass, says that Taylor Jenkins and Mike Brown are now the front-runners for the Knicks’ head coaching job.
Additionally, New York has also tossed around the idea of talking to James Borrego, former head coach of the Charlotte Hornets.

Jenkins and Brown have a good amount of experience coaching teams, with Jenkins being an assistant for the Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks before leading the Memphis Grizzlies for six seasons.
As for Brown, he has been head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and most recently, the Sacramento Kings.
He has also spent time as an assistant for the Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs, Indiana Pacers, and Golden State Warriors.
This head coach hunt has included many names, including a few candidates who already have jobs.
Jason Kidd, for example, was sought by the Knicks, but the Dallas Mavericks would not let him even have an interview.
The offseason has started, and the Knicks have other important tasks ahead of them.
They need to focus on roster changes and how to rise even higher in the Eastern Conference next season.
Therefore, they want to come to a conclusion with this coaching search as soon as possible.
They have a lot to do with no time to waste, and can’t move forward without a head coach.
