Ace Bailey may have decided upon the NBA team he wants to play for, but will they draft him?

The incoming prospect has been making a lot of waves lately because of his unorthodox approach to the upcoming NBA draft.

Now, he has reportedly settled on the team he wants to be with.

According to Jonathan Givony, per Evan Sidery, the Washington Wizards are one of Bailey’s preferred destinations at the No. 6 overall pick.

The Wizards could give Bailey the sort of role he wants, but that doesn’t mean they will take him up on his offer.

Bailey has refused to do workouts with any team in the league, instead only wanting a team that promises he will be a top player and a starting option right away.

There aren’t many teams that are willing to vow a starting position for any rookie, which has limited Bailey’s choices.

Additionally, the young college star and his management have said they wish to land Bailey on an East Coast team, which is also limiting.

Bailey shows a lot of promise, although his lack of workouts raises some red flags and questions about him.

Teams are nervous about committing to him because of the choices he has made during the draft process.

The Wizards could definitely give Bailey a spot in the starting lineup if he plays well.

As noted by Sidery, he could be a cornerstone piece in Washington for years to come.

Bailey’s path through the draft has been controversial, but it might be leading him to Washington and a busy future in the NBA.
