Jonathan Kuminga Feels Like The Warriors Aren’t Giving Him A Chance

Will we see Jonathan Kuminga with the Golden State Warriors next season, or will he move on to another team?

In a new piece for The Athletic, Kuminga got very honest about himself, his career, his goals, and what he wants for himself.

It is clear that he wants to deliver a lot for a team and wishes to be great.

“I feel like I’m at the point where that has to be my priority, to just be one of the guys a team relies on. Aiming to be an All-Star. Multiple times. Aiming to be great. … Wherever I’m going to be at, it don’t matter if it’s the Warriors or if it’s anywhere else, it’s something I want. I want to see what I could do. I know I got it. So I want to really see. I’ve never got that chance,” Kuminga said, via NBACentral.

Last season, Kuminga posted 15.3 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists on 45.4 percent from the field for the Warriors.

But he didn’t play nearly as much as he did the season before.

He appeared in 47 games and started in just 10 of them.

Some fans were confused and even upset about head coach Steve Kerr choosing not to use Kuminga enough.

And it sounds like the player himself wanted to do more.

There have been trade rumors swirling around Kuminga for the last few years, although a couple of seasons ago, he seemed untouchable.

But the Warriors haven’t been calling on him as often, Kuminga clearly wants to do more, and the team is also hoping to improve in the offseason.

It feels as if things are headed in one direction, and Kuminga probably won’t be in Golden State when 2025-26 kicks off.
