Taylor Heinicke Makes Big Personal Announcement

Taylor Heinicke’s days as an NFL starter might be over, but he’s still getting one ring.

Unfortunately, it’s not the ring all players strive for.

However, it might be even more important.

As reported by Riggo 70 Chip on X, the former Washington Commanders signal-caller just got engaged.

Heinicke took to Instagram to share the news with an emotional picture of the big moment.

The veteran quarterback will have to make the most of the spare time while he can, as the upcoming season is just around the corner.

He signed a deal to stay with the Los Angeles Chargers for a little longer.

The Chargers acquired him from the Atlanta Falcons in the preseason, and he even made four appearances as a backup for Jim Harbaugh’s team.

So far, he’s made 42 appearances in his career (29 starts).

He’s played for the Houston Texans, Carolina Panthers, Commanders, Falcons, and Chargers, and he even led the Commanders to the NFC Wild Card game back in 2020.

His best year came in 2021 when he started 15 of 16 games and logged 3,419 passing yards and 21 total touchdowns (20 passing).

Of course, the Chargers will hope that he will only take the field late in games because they’re up by double digits and want to keep Justin Herbert out of harm’s way.

Then again, you can never have too much depth at the most crucial position in team sports, and given his proven background as a backup and a starter in the league, the Chargers can rest assured that they have one of the best QB2s in the game.
