The Dallas Mavericks have kept their offseason relatively quiet, but the moves they’ve made could define their future.
After winning the 2025 NBA Draft lottery with just a 1.8 percent chance, Dallas selected Cooper Flagg at No. 1 overall.
Now, the franchise has made its investment in the 18-year-old official.
“The Dallas Mavericks have officially signed Cooper Flagg,” Noah Weber wrote on X.

The rookie contract represents a significant financial commitment reportedly worth $62.7 million over four years.
Flagg will earn $13.8 million in his first season, with the Mavericks holding team options for the third and fourth years.
The Duke product arrives with impressive credentials from his lone college season. The 6-foot-9 forward averaged 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game while shooting 48.1 percent from the field and 38.5 percent from 3-point range.
His defensive impact showed in 1.4 steals and 1.4 blocks per game, and he became the fourth freshman to win AP National Player of the Year.
The timing creates an immediate opportunity for the young star. Following the blockbuster trade that sent Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, Dallas has completely restructured its roster.
With Kyrie Irving recovering from a torn ACL and expected to miss significant time next season, Flagg should see substantial minutes from his debut.
Flagg could make his first appearance in a Mavericks uniform during NBA Summer League action beginning July 10, giving fans their initial glimpse of the new cornerstone player.
