Hyman was not swinging the clubs as he continued to sport a cast from the surgery he had on his fractured wrist.
“I feel good still wearing the brace. I get it off in a couple weeks, which is great,” Hyman said about his injury. “I’m still in the recovery phase, but looking forward to getting back on the ice and getting going when I can.”
He suffered the injury during Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars while getting the puck out of his zone and being caught by a hit from Mason Marchment in the neutral zone.
Hyman dropped his stick immediately and went to the locker room while holding his right arm.
When asked he will be ready to start next season, Hyman was cautious about setting a firm date, based on experience.
“I don’t even know what the timeline is, to be honest, but that’s definitely not out of the question,” Hyman said. “I haven’t set a date or anything like that. I’ve dealt with it with the ACL. Once you set a date, you get disappointed if you don’t play on that date. So I hope to play on opening night. I don’t know if I will.”
