The Phoenix Suns have extended their longtime star on a two-year, $145-million extension, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported on Wednesday.
The deal, which is the highest annual extension salary in NBA history, keeps Booker in Phoenix through the 2029-30 season, Charania added.
Booker’s been with the Suns since the team drafted him 13th overall in 2015. Since then, he’s totalled 673 games for the franchise while averaging 24.4 points, 4.0 rebounds and 5.2 assists.
Since making an NBA Finals appearance in 2021 and then following it up with a 64-win season in which Booker made the all-NBA first team and finished fourth in MVP voting, things have largely trended downward in Phoenix, despite big swings for Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal.
The Suns went 36-46 last season and missed the playoffs outright for the first time since their Finals run. Booker did his part, however, averaging 25.6 points, 4.1 rebounds and a career-high 7.1 assists through 75 appearances.
