Herb Jones has agreed to a three-year, $68 million contract with the Pelicans, ESPN’s Shams Charania reported Thursday.
The 26-year-old averaged 10.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.9 steals in 20 games with New Orleans last season before being ruled out for the remainder of the campaign after undergoing surgery for a torn rotator cuff on Feb. 12.
Jones was named to the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2023-24 and finished fifth in Defensive Player of the Year voting. He is one of eight players with over 350 steals and 150 blocks since entering the league in 2021, Charania added.
The six-foot-eight forward will rejoin a Pelicans team that added top prospects Jeremiah Fears and Derik Queen in the 2025 draft.
